On the Poetic Style and Cultural Connotation of "Feather Man" Image in Poetry in the Tang Dynasty
After thousands of years,the image of"feather man"is ever-changing,and its origin and development vein are clear.In the Tang Dynasty,the original image of"feather man"gradually faded,and gradually approached or over-lapped with the image of Taoist"immortal"or"celestial being".Among the 35 poets,their poetic style is unique,mainly showing three different poetic styles,which are reflected in three aspects:magnificent,leisurely and quiet,and romantic.In the Poems of the Whole Tang Dynasty,there are 48 poems that use the images of"feather man"to express their aspirations or convey their feelings,or convey the longing of the Tao or the boredom of unfulfilled ambition,or express a firm belief in patriotism and love for the people or a heavy sorrow for reality or a detached state of mind,or pursue an ideal society of peach blossom.Tang poets have rich emotional connotation.In a word,their poems about the image of"feather man"con-tain two profound cultural connotations:on the one hand,they are deeply influenced by Taoism and culture,and they pur-sue the ideological realm of Taoism advocating nature,quiet and doing nothing in their poetry creation,which typically re-flects the characteristics of the times,thoughts and culture.On the other hand,it reflects their passion for life,their love for life,and their eternal desire for life.
