Film and Revolution:the Dissemination of Films about Lenin in China before the Founding of the People's Republic of China
As a visual symbol of Lenin,the spreading of films about Lenin in China was closely related to the internal and external situations faced by China in different periods,and played a positive role in promoting national liberation and class struggle,spreading Marxism-Leninism,and popularizing the history of the October Revolution of the Soviet Union.During the National Revolution,Lenin films became an important medium for early Chinese Communists to commemorate Lenin,and expanded the influence of the October Revolution and Lenin's thought in China in a local scope.During the An-ti-Japan War,the films about Lenin were successfully screened in the Southwest rear area and the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border area,which effectively strengthened the Chinese people's positive understanding of the history of the Soviet Union's October Revolution and Lenin himself,and encouraged the whole nation's resistance against Japanese aggression.During the Liberation War,films about Lenin were widely shown in the old and new liberated areas,and became a literary and artis-tic weapon for the Communist Party of China to carry out political publicity,implement class education,and promote the change and implementation of revolutionary policies.
