Using Contour Diagrams to Illustrate the Constrained Optimization
This paper summarizes the applications of contour diagrams in the teaching of multivariable calculus,especially its inspiring illustration of the constrained optimization.In addition,we give two examples,one is in the sufficient condition for the extreme value of bivariate function and the other is in the Lasso method.
