A Comparative Study of Library Learning Support Services between Chinese Undergraduate Vocational Schools and American Community Colleges
Undergraduate vocational schools are an important measure to improve China's vocational education system.Vocational school libraries should actively perform the function of providing support services for teaching and research,strengthen the construction of library service systems,and resonate with the development of the school.This article selects the library websites of 15 community colleges in the United States that can award bachelor's degrees and the first batch of 15 undergraduate vocational schools in China as samples for research,and conducts comparative analysis on their functional orientation,service types,spatial facilities,openness,and team building.The results show that there are significant differences in the development of vocational education libraries between China and the United States.Undergraduate vocational school libraries should actively participate in the top-level design plan of the school,accurately grasp the direction of functional changes,attach great importance to information literacy,actively provide services to the community,continuously improve the quality of team services,and give full play to the learning support service functions of the library.We should build a vocational education service system with characteristics and promote the high-quality development of vocational education.
