A Survey on the Promotion Mechanism of Children's Reading in the United States and Its Enlightenment to China
In the context of the new era,children's reading promotion services are not only a focal area but also a crucial aspect of the development of public library services.This study aims to provide a systematic perspective through an in-depth analysis of the children's reading promotion mechanism in the United States,thereby facilitating further development of children's reading promotion in public libraries in China.This study employs online surveys and literature analysis methods to systematically review and analyze the strategies and practices of American public libraries in promoting children's reading.The study focuses on the policy framework,implementation strategies,social participation,digital integration,and tiered reading promotion approaches and situations in American public libraries.The research indicates that American public libraries have achieved significant success in promoting children's reading,primarily due to their solid policy support,diversified service models,close community and family cooperation,and proactive adaptation to digital transformation.Particularly in tiered reading promotion practices,American public libraries effectively meet the individualized reading needs of children by providing customized reading materials and activities for different age groups and reading levels.Based on the analysis of the current children's reading promotion practices in China,suggestions are proposed,including building a comprehensive policy framework,deepening community and family participation,actively implementing tiered reading strategies,and embracing digital transformation,aiming to enhance the high-quality and sustainable development of children's reading promotion in Chinese public libraries.
