The introduction of the concept of vector potential in the teaching of general physics can help students deepen their understanding of electrostatic field and static magnetic field on the basis of comparative com-parison.At the same time,with the help of simple vector operation rules,it can also show mathematical explana-tions for the dipole radiation as the basic composition of electromagnetic radiation.Such understanding about vector potential and dipole radiation will be helpful for the learning and articulation of subsequent courses.
