From image enhancement to visual alienation——Image events, representation crisis and cultural criticism in the age of vision
As an increasingly common visual phenomenon in contemporary society, the high frequency of image events has made it necessary to reexamine the mechanism of modern vision, and also made it possible to examine modern vision from the standpoint of cultural critique. The deep integration with daily life has made the modem image texts more representative of the real world, and beneath the surface of textual enhancement is the deviation from the true value of objects, the dissolution of the subject's sense of truth-seeking,as well as the obscuring of the text's aesthetic implication. The tampering of the social relationship structure by the modern visual mechanism is reflected in the rise of social voyeurism and the occurrence of universal body anxiety.Examining modern vision from the perspective of Marxist alienation theory not only reveals the implicit connection between visual alienation and technology and consumption, but also elucidates the intrinsic coherence of visual alienation and technological alienation.Furthermore,it provides a scientific solution for rationally reassessing the modern vis-ual mechanism.
