From"judgment"to"empathy":how aesthetics intervenes in the study of intangible cultural heritage
Although the intangible culture,as a small tradition, does not align with the aesthetic framework of judging art and aesthetics from the perspective of Kant's transcendental idealism, atmosphere aesthetics,as a contemporary aesthetic discourse crisis, attempts to return to Baumgarten's new sensibility of"the initial conception of aesthetics",which can provide theoretical support for aesthetics to transcend the research field stipulated by art philosophy. From"judgment"to"empathy",the aesthetics of atmosphere has provided vital inspiration for aesthetics that concerns intangible cultural heritage protection, breaking away from the speculative framework of classical aesthetics and focusing on such characteristics as sensory, emotional, and plastic that diverse tradi-tional cultural atmosphere spaces behold. It explores the heterogeneous memory rhetoric and representational strategies of certain ethnic group who continuously integrate their"sense of history"and"sense of place"into the current situation. This has significant theoretical and practical guiding values for understanding the unique way in which multiple cultural communities construct their spiritual and aesthetic dwellings,as well as the specific mechanism for cultivating the topophilia, together with demonstrating the possibility of transcending the boundaries of ethnic identity and co-constructing a cross-cultural atmosphere space that can reach the emo-tional resonance level of aesthetic communication.
