Literary research in the new era and new journey has an important mission.General Sectary Xi Jinping's important speeches at the symposium on cultural inheritance and development,as well as his important instruc-tions on promoting ideological and cultural work,further provide fundamental directions and guidelines for the historical responsibility of literary research in the new era.Firstly,we need to adhere to the the guidance of Maxim and Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era,and adhere to the academic orientation centered on the people.Secondly,we need to deeply understand and practice the"two combinations",promote the construction of university disciplines through the integration of disciplines,and expand the new realm of literary research.Finally,the external communication function of literary research should be enhanced,so that literary research can better become an important way to build a community with a shared future for mankind.In addition,the mission and responsibility of research on Chinese literature in the new era also lie in closely focusing on the major needs of the CPC and the country,and comprehensively con-structing an independent knowledge system of Chinese literature.
