Study on Dielectric Voltage-Resistance of Different Package Relays under Low Pressure
As an important switch control device, relay has a wide rang of application scenarios, among which low-pressure environment is one of its important application scenarios. The drop in air pressure can affect the dielectric voltage resistance of the relay, especially in high voltage applications. The limit application air low pressure value of different package relays under high voltage and the influence of 110 h storage at 5 kPa on the dielectric voltage-resistance is studied, which provides guidance for the application and selection of relays in low pressure. The results show that the dielectric voltage resistance of the metal-sealed relay is similar to that of the plastic-sealed relay under low voltage. When the voltage increases to a certain extent, the dielectric voltage-resistance of the plastic-sealed relay is better than that of the metal-sealed relay. The dielectric voltage resistance of the device will degrade after storage at low pressure for a long time, and the dielectric voltage resistance of the metal-encapsulated relay will degrade faster than that of the plastic seal. There are two breakdown paths during the low air pressure test, namely dielectric breakdown and air breakdown of the device.
