Comparative Study on the Adaptability of Four Coating Systems to Island and Reef Environments
Solar radiation is the main cause of organic coating aging, and high temperature, high humidity, and salt spray are important influencing factors for coating protection failure. In the natural environment of high temperature, high humidity, high salt spray, and strong solar radiation in the islands and reefs of the South China Sea,four commonly used protective coating systems for aviation electronic equipment with two identical substrates(hard aluminum LY12-CZ and rust proof aluminum LF6M)and the same coating(H·DY)but different primers and topcoats are subjected to natural exposure tests for one year to compare their environmental adaptability. The results show that topcoat TB04-62 and sea ash A04-61 are prone to discoloration in reef environments, but the comprehensive protective performance of TB04-62 topcoat is better than that of sea ash A04-61 topcoat.
