Magnitude deviation analysis for teleseismic body wave magnitude determined by Macheng Seismic Station
The complete waveforms of 203 teleseismic events recorded by Macheng Seismic Station were collected and sorted, and the short-period body-wave magnitude mb and the broadband body-wave magnitude mB(BB)were measured according to the National Standard of New Magnitude's rules. We compared these magnitudes with the moment magnitude MW provided by the Global Centroid-Moment-Tensor(GCMT)Project and calculated the deviation values. We then analyzed the relationship between magnitude deviation and magnitude, epicentral distance, focal depth, and azimuth using statistical methods.According to the analysis results, the magnitude mB(BB)of Macheng Seismic Station is more consistent with the magnitude MW and is relatively less affected by various factors, and its earthquake reflecting ability is relatively strong.
