The monitoring capability of seismic network in Heilongjiang Province is briefly introduced,and the distribution characteristics of earthquakes in Heilongjiang Province since 1900 are analyzed by seismic cataloguing data. The results show that most of the cataloged earthquakes in Heilongjiang Province are smaller than M 4,and few are bigger than M 6. The non-natural earthquakes mainly are mine earthquakes and blasting events. M ≥ 6 earthquakesare all natural earthquakes,mainly distributed in Fuyu-Zhaodong fault,Hulan River fault,Mishan-Dunhua fault,Jilin and Heilongjiang border deep earthquake area.
