Effect of heavy rainfall on Rn concentration observation in the Suqian segment of Tanlu fault zone
During the 13th Five-Year plan period,10 fault soil gas stations were planned and built along the Tanlu fault zone in Suqian city to capture the variation of stress field and the anomaly of seismic geophysics in the tectonic region, which areused to monitor the exhalation concentration of soil gas such as Rn,H2 and CO2 in Suqian segment of Tanlu fault zone. Through continuous observation in recent two years,it is found that heavy rainfall has a great influence on instrument counting and station operation, especially gas radon observation. It is considered that the design and construction scheme of the soil gas observation and collection pit of the middle-west (arid and less rainy) fault in our country is not applicable to the soil gas monitoring of Suqian section of the Tanlu fault zone. Therefore it is necessary to design and improve gas-collecting facilities and observation devices in the southeast of our country, taking into full account such factors as the groundwater depth and seasonal heavy rainfall, etc.,in order to meet the technical requirements of the continuous observation of the local fault soil gas Rn.
