In September 2022,two earthquakes above magnitude 6 occurred in China,namely the Luding MS 6.8 earthquake in Sichuan and the Hualien MS 6.9 earthquake in,Taiwan. The damage of two earthquakes was compared and analyzed,the casualties and the impact on buildings and infrastructure were summarized,the reasons for the differences in damage were analyzed,and the inspiration for improving earthquake disaster defense capabilities was summarized,in order to provide reference for rapid determination of future earthquake disasters,earthquake site intensity assessment and loss assessment,emergency response decision-making,etc.
