Preliminary Study on Influences of Assembly Condition on Transmission Performances of Fuzz Button Connectors
To explore the influence of assembly conditions on the radio frequency(RF)transmission performance of fuzz button connectors,in this paper a theoretical analysis, simulation modeling and practical testing of samples are conducted. It is found that the precision of alignment between the connector's core and the circuit board pad,the degree of compression exerted on the fuzz buttons inside the connector and the spacing of the fasteners have significant effect on RF performances.Experimental results show that both radial and axial misalignment between the connector and the circuit board can cause performance deterioration.Axial misalignment exerts a more obvious negative impact. Moreover,an increase in the distance between fasteners on the circuit board further exacerbates the decline in RF performance.Consequently,it is imperative to rigorously manage assembly tolerances during the design stage, ensuring that the connector assembly conditions remain within a meticulously controlled range for maintaining optimal RF transmission performance.
