Settlement Characteristics and Design Parameters Optimization of Composite Panel-Wall Solidified Soft Soil Foundations
Soft soil solidification has become a widely used foundation treatment method in recent years.A key engineering challenge is how to optimize the design of solidified soil foundation by balanc-ing safety and project cost. This study focused on the site of the Jingwei 110 kV Binhai Substation in Taizhou,Zhejiang Province, and proposed a panel-wall composite solidified foundation treatment method suitable for the load characteristics of the site.Through field investigation and laboratory ex-periments,the physical and mechanical parameters of typical soft soil and solidified soil were mea-sured.A three-dimensional numerical model of the site was then established to calculate the variation patterns of post-construction settlement and pore water pressure under different panel-wall combina-tions.The advantages of the panel-wall composite solidification method in controlling settlement were also analyzed.Based on an analysis of the settlement evolution process, the optimal design parameters for panel-wall composite solidified foundation were determined, with the curing agent content at 4.5%,panel thickness at 3.0 m,wall thickness at 2.0 m,and wall depth at 7.0 m.The study found that increasing the curing agent content significantly enhanced the uniaxial compressive strength and shear strength of the solidified soil, but the maximum settlement was hardly affected by the agent con-tent.The solidified wall limited the lateral deformation of the underlying soft soil, reducing the dissipa-tion rate of excess pore water pressure and the post-construction settlement rate of the foundation.
