Research Status and Prospects of Cyclic Shear Apparatus and Shear Mechanical Properties of Rock Mass Structural Planes
The paper summarizes the research progress on several critical issues related to the mechani-cal properties of rock mass structural planes under cyclic loading, encompassing four main aspects:(1)morphological information on the surface of structural planes;(2)cyclic shear test apparatus for struc-tural planes;(3)influencing factors of cyclic shear test;and(4)description and characterization of me-chanical properties of structural planes.Based on the review of existing research results, the unsolved problems and future development directions are pointed out.At present, there is no unified criterion for describing roughness of structural planes, and the shear apparatus that sufficiently simulates seis-mic loads in unidirectional shear still needs further development.Furthermore, normal cyclic loading tests, particularly coupled tangential and normal cyclic loading shear tests, require further investiga-tion.In addition,a comprehensive theoretical framework that considers all influencing factors for cy-clic loading tests is still lacking.Selecting appropriate deformation and strength formulas for structural planes remains a challenging issue.Developing new dynamic,multi-degree-of-freedom cyclic shear ap-paratus and conducting comprehensive research on deformation and strength formulas for cyclic shear is essential for advancing the study of dynamic shear problems of rock mass structural planes. It is hoped that this paper will provide some reference and basis for future related work.
