Application of IP Sounding Method to the Exploration of the Sulinggou Gold Mining Area in South Qinling Mountains
The Xiajiadian gold deposit in the South Qinling Mountains contains three mining areas:Xiajiadian,Sulinggou, and Liujiaxia. It is a typical black rock hosted gold deposit with important economic value. In the Sulinggou gold mine area, the IP method was used to detected the distribution of the No.1 structural belt and black ore bearing rock series in the deep westward extension and dip burial depth of the Devonian strata coverage area.Based on the IP sounding data,a cross-sectional IP anomaly curve with"low resistance and high polarization"characteristics was obtained, and combined with geological data, the spatial occurrence status of the deep ore bearing target layer and ore bearing structures was interpreted and inferred. After drilling verification, the location of the gold mineralization body was basically consistent with the burial depth of the polarization anomaly center inferred by the induced polarization sounding. In addition,a database of electrical parameters of rocks(ores)in the mining area has been established. This study has accumulated data for the future exploration of deposits of the same type and characteristics using IP sounding in this mining area and its surrounding areas.
