Analysis on Geological Conditions of Gold Mineralization in Sandan County,Kampong Thong Province,Kingdom of Cambodia
The overall level of geological work in Sandan County of the Kingdom of Cambodia's Kampong Thong Province is relatively low,and the study of the geological conditions for the existing gold deposits(points)in this area has important guiding significance for gold exploration in the region. This article provides a detailed explanation of the ore-forming geological elements of the gold deposits(mineralization)in the survey area, and conducts a comparative study with IRGS type gold deposits. It is inferred that the tectonic background and magmatic rock conditions in the calcareous alkaline region of the contact area between the continental margin arc and the backarc craton basin provide favorable regional geological conditions for gold mineralization in the area, which has a similar tectonic background to typical IRGS type gold deposits. The gold ore bodies(mineralization)in the survey area are often developed in intrusive rocks and their marginal zones. In terms of spatial distribution, gold mineralization is closely related to intrusive rocks, and the surrounding rocks often include quartz carbonate sericite alteration combinations. The gold ore is mainly in the form of network veins and breccia, which is in line with the mineralization characteristics of IRGS type gold deposits. It is preliminarily believed that the gold mineralization in the region is closely related to intrusive rocks and belongs to the IRGS type gold deposit.
