The relationship Between Hydrogeological Conditions and Uranium Mineralization of the Toutunhe Formation in the Louzhuangzi Area,Southern Margin of Junggar Basin
The sandstone-type uranium mineralization of the Toutunhe Formation was found in the Louzhuangzi area on the southern margin of the Junggar Basin.Although the metallogenic prospect and prospecting direction of uranium have been discussed previously, the ore-controlling factors of uranium are still unclear.Sandstone-type uranium deposit is a type of hydrogenetic mineral, and it is crucial to study the relationship between hydrogeological conditions and uranium mineralization for the discovery of uranium mineralization law and the prediction of prospecting target area.Based on the data of uranium and coalfield boreholes, the aquifers of Toutunhe Formation were divided and their characteristics were analyzed.According to the groundwater evolution characteristics in the survey region, the main uranium metallogenic geological period was deduced.Combined with the development characteristics of aquifers(thickness of sandstone aquifers, sedimentary characteristics,sand-mud ratio, connectivity, permeability, etc),as well as the characteristics of'skylight',this work revealed the differences of alternating intensity of hydrologic cycle and uranium metallogenic hydrogeological conditions in different regions.Favorable areas and aquifers of the Toutunhe Formation for uranium mineralization were predicted through comprehensive analysis of favorable metallogenic information.Drillings indicate that uranium mineralization is most promising in the central part of the Louzhuangzi area, followed by the eastern part, and least promising in the western part.Industrial uranium mineralization has only been observed in aquifer III,where excellent exploration results have been obtained.
