Discussion on the Method of Determining the Distance Between Exploration Projects:Taking a Lead-Zinc Deposit in Yunnan Province as an Example
Determining a reasonable spacing between exploration projects is an essential step in the process of mineral resource exploration. Currently, commonly used methods for spacing between exploration projects include validation, indicator value statistics, and geostatistics. The existing methods for determining the spacing of exploration projects have certain defects and shortcomings to some extent. This article takes a lead-zinc mine in Yunnan Province as an example, and explores and improves the existing methods for determining the spacing of exploration projects in accordance with the current exploration standards in China. It is believed that the reasonable spacing of exploration projects should be determined after comprehensive consideration of current exploration regulations, ore body area, various variation coefficients of ore bodies, confidence probability, allowable error range, and other parameters. Based on relevant parameters,a formula for determining the spacing of exploration projects has been formulated (standardized flag value coordination method). The use of this formula can make the determined exploration engineering spacing more reasonable and standardized. The determined exploration engineering spacing, together with the exploration specifications, can determine the reasonable floating range of the exploration engineering spacing for specific levels of resource reserves. Its rationality and applicability need further improvement and verification, and this formula can be used as a reference for readers.
