The surface movement and deformation caused by the mining of underground coal mines could lead to damage to the rock and soil structure of the slope, which in turn affects the stability of the slope. This paper takes the mining slope on the north side of Magudi in the east well of Dawan Coal Mine in Liupanshui of Guizhou province as the research object. The deformation characteristics and mechanisms of slopes were analyzed and summarized under the influence of coal mining based on a detailed on-site investigation, and the stability of the slope was analyzed through qualitative judgment, quantitative calculation, numerical simulation and other methods. The results showed that the influence of underground coal mining,on the slope of northern in Magudi is mainly cracking and sinking, which had no effect on the deep bedrock landslides. However,a higher possibility of local collapse (or sliding)might happen in steep terrain areas. This conclusion in this paper is basically consistent with the actual situation in the mining area, and can provide reference for slope stability analysis under the influence of similar coal mining operations.
