Zuleikha by Guzel Yakhina is a masterpiece of contemporary Russian literature, which has attracted worldwide attention. The novel tells the story of Zuleikha,an ordinary tatar woman, and others'rewriting of their fates in exile during agricultural collectivization in the Soviet Union.Based on psychology of trauma and the identity theory, this article discusses the trauma symptoms and the identity reconstructions of three protagonists:self-loss and identity construction of Zuleikha,an ordinary woman, constriction and identity recovery of Dr.Lebey,an elite intellectual, intrusion and identity struggle of Ignatov,an upright revolutionary.Facing historic trauma, the novel does not stop at the level of recalling the suffering, but goes beyond the writing paradigm of mourning the trauma with suffering, and sublimates to the spiritual height of reconciling with the trauma and realizing identity reconstruction in the name of love and hope, thus achieving extraordinary ethical value.
