A new method for quantitative evaluation of fracture development degree based on image recognition technology:Take the Xu2 gas reservoir in the Anyue gas field as an example
The prediction and evaluation of natural fractures play a significant role in developing fractured gas reser-voirs.Three manners are widely used to characterize natural fractures qualitatively and quantitatively,including core observation,geophysical method,and fracture modeling.Based on the 3D fracture model,the fracture development degree of the controllable reserves volume per well in Anyue gas field was evaluated using image automatic recogni-tion technology and the dimensionless fracture development index.In addition,a new method was established.The study on Xu2 gas reservoir in Anyue gas field showed that:1)The image recognition technology uses the computer to read the RGB basic color intensity value of each pixel to judge the distribution rule of the actual physical parameters represented by the image through the size of the RGB value,and the fracture development degree can be evaluated quickly and quantitatively.2)The average dimensionless fracture development index is 0.38,which indicates frac-tures are developed in the controllable reserves volume per well of Xu2 gas reservoir in Anyue gas field,and the frac-ture development index can be used as an essential index for early production prediction of gas wells.3)Fracture development index can be used as an important index for early production prediction of gas wells,the initial produc-tion and open-flow rate of gas wells with high fracture growth index are large,and the region with fracture growth index greater than 0.40 can be preferentially considered for well location deployment.This study has guiding signifi-cance for the quantitative evaluation of similar reservoir fractures in China and abroad and the subsequent develop-ment of Xu2 gas reservoir in Anyue gas field.
