Reservoir characteristics and its oil-controlling effect of Chang8 in western Fuxian area,Ordos Basin
The main controlling factors of tight reservoirs have always been the critical point of unconventional petro-leum geology theories.Chang8 tight reservoir of the western Fuxian area in Ordos basin was taken as the research object, and the data were used such as wireline logging, drilling, logging, core, thin section, mercury injection, and test to analyze the thickness, lithology, reservoir space, and physical characteristics of reservoir sand bodies, clear the Chang8 reservoir type, and reveal the oil-controlling effect of reservoir conditions on the Chang8 tight oil reser-voir.The result showed the average thickness of Chang8 sand bodies is about 4 m,and the reservoir lithology is mainly medium and fine-grained feldspar sandstone in the western Fuxian area.Residual intergranular and intergran-ular dissolution pores dominate the reservoir spaces, and the reservoir belongs to the tight reservoirs with an average porosity of 8.04%,median value of 7.5%,average permeability of 0.36 mD,and median value of 0.23 mD.The type of reservoir is mainly lenticular lithologic tight reservoir, with longitudinal multi-layered and planar contiguous characteristics of quasi-continuous pattern, which is not controlled by regional structure. The distribution of Chang8 tight reservoir is controlled by the thickness of the sand body, the shale content of sandstone, reservoir lithology, and reservoir physical property. The reservoirs with medium and fine-grained sandstones, large thickness, low shale content, and good physical properties are conducive to the enrichment and high production of tight oil.
