Experimental study on calculating method of water flooding radius in ultra-low permeability
Due to low permeability, strong heterogeneity, and developed fractures in ultra-low permeability reservoirs,it is difficult to predict water injection sweep parameters during water injection, which cannot guide water injection adjustment in time. Therefore, the calculation method of the swept radius of water flooding in ultra-low permeability reservoirs was studied to characterize better the swept distance and degree of injected water in the formation.Based on the dynamic data of injection and production, the injection and production system of the reservoir was simplified and characterized with the method to discretize the reservoir between water injection wells and production wells into a series of mass units composed of matrix and fracture parameters. The material balance equation between oil and water wells with the mass unit as the target was established to track the saturation of the water flooding front. The injected water volume was obtained at a certain time through heterogeneous water injection splitting calculation. So,the swept radius of the injected water at that time was obtained. The research results show that the calculation method is simple and convenient, which can quantitatively characterize the water flooding swept front and behavior, track the swept direction of water flooding, and reflect the water breakthrough and effectiveness in oil wells in real time. The calculation results agree with the dynamic monitoring results of the water flooding front. This verifies the method's effectiveness and has a certain guiding significance for water injection development regulation of ultra-low permeability reservoirs.
