Accumulation elements and prospects of natural gas hydrate in Heihai Basin of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
In order to clarify the conditions and resource prospects of natural gas hydrate accumulation in the permafrost area of Heihai Sea Basin in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the author conducted the matter source exploration, ground temperature statistics, water source tracing, and investigation of frozen soil and storage and transportation conditions through field exploration, sample collection and testing, and data secondary development,The results indicated as follow:1)The sources are abundant, and the source rocks of Xilikete Formation are the main sources due to their high organic matter abundance, maturity, and type Ⅲ organic matter, while the source rocks of the Babaoshan Formation provide secondary sources;2)The ground temperature is suitable, with an average temperature of-5~1 ℃;3)The ground water source is relatively sufficient, and the main sources of supply are the atmospheric water and the deliquation water of ice and snow;4)The frozen soil is developed, with a thicknesses ranging from 10 to 250 m;5)The storage and migration conditions are good, and the sandstone layers in Xilikete Formation,Babaoshan Formation, and Quaternary System,as well as the fractures, pores, and secondary high angle faults developed in each layer, are the spaces and channels for the storage and migration of natural gas hydrates;6)The natural gas hydrate has a good prospect for accumulation, and one prospective reservoir area has been selected in Heihai Sea Basin. The above achievements have guiding significance for the prediction of natural gas hydrate prospects in the entire East Kunlun and even Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region.
