Semi-transparent photovoltaic window is focused in recent years due to its active energy-saving advantages.Since the surface of semi-transparent photovoltaic window is covered by solar cells, which may cause overheating of the indoor thermal environment and affect human thermal sensation. However, previous researches on the indoor thermal environment characteristics of buildings with semi-transparent photovoltaic window were insufficient. To address these issues, parameters such as indoor air temperature and irradiance of semi-transparent photovoltaic window and clear glass rooms were measured and analyzed. In addition, the thermal testing results of subjects in two rooms are compared under air-conditioned operating conditions. The results showed that the thermal environment in the room with semi-transparent photovoltaic window significantly influenced by thermal radiation under the effect of high-temperature long-wave radiation on the window surface and short-wave radiation.Additionally, the thermal sensation voting results of semi-transparent photovoltaic window room were much higher than that of the clear glass room in the neutral ranges. So semi-transparent photovoltaic window can meet the dual requirements of human thermal comfort and building energy efficiency.
