In the cold area of northern Hebei Province, most of the existing farm houses have not taken thermal insulation measures, which leads to high heating energy consumption and poor indoor thermal environment. In order to reduce the heating energy consumption of the existing farm house and improve the indoor thermal environment, this paper takes a typical farm house in the cold region of northern Hebei as the research object, and simulates the heating energy consumption of the farm house based on DesignBuilder, and explores the influence of energy-saving retrofit of the farm house envelope structure on the heating energy consumption.Using the ratio of investment to income as the economic evaluation index, the paper analyzes and compares the single factor energy-saving transformation and the orthogonal experiment combination energy-saving transformation, and obtains the appropriate energy-saving transformation strategy. The results show that external wall insulation has a great influence on building heating energy consumption. The best comprehensive energy-saving transformation scheme is to use 60 mm thick EPS insulation board for external wall,80 mm EPS insulation board for ceiling and 6+12A+6 plastic steel external window. After the transformation, the typical farm house can save 61.80%energy.The average daily temperature of the living room on the coldest day in winter increased by 8.50 ℃.The research results can provide reference for energy saving retrofit of existing farm houses in the cold area of northern Hebei Province.
