Hot Issues and Knowledge Mapping in the Research of University Academic Power in China:A Bibliometric Analysis Based on CNKI
In order to analyze the current status and development trend in the research of university academic power in China, and reveal the connotation, correlation and development of related subjects, the authors conduct a bibliometric analysis based on the dataset of CNKI for the period 1993-2012. Key words, authors, institutions and cited literatures from 399 papers focusing on academic power are analyzed and a knowledge map is drawn accordingly. The findings are summarized as follows: academic power and executive power are the largest keyword nodes in the knowledge map; the hot issues in the research of university academic power include the concept of academic power, the relationship between academic power and administrative power, the legitimacy of academic power, academic management, and academic organization; the major research institutions in this realm include Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Soochow University and Jilin University; some articles with high citation frequency become the source of knowledge and theoretical basis of academic power research; the authors of the most cited articles include Bie Dunrong, Gui Yifan, Wang Yingjie, etc.
