The Cultivation of High-Quality General Practice Talents in Australia:Development Trajectory,Characteristics,and Enlightenment
The cultivation of high-quality general medical professionals is a key theme for the times in promoting the comprehensive development of a Healthy China in the new era of China's growth.Observing the world,Australia's extensive experience of over 60 years in general medical talent training has established a clear orientation of pursuing excellence and serving society.It has developed a comprehensive and continuous training system,encompassing all stages,and established a diverse and interdisciplinary curriculum.Additionally,it has fostered a top-notch teaching team and implemented an industry-oriented governance strategy.Despite differences in national conditions,cultural backgrounds,and system settings between China and Australia,valuable insights can be gleaned from Australia's successful practices:establish a quality-driven goal orientation;explore the development of standardized training;enhance the internationalization and competency focus of the curriculum;prioritize immersive educational guidance during the undergraduate stage;facilitate the recruitment and training of professional educators;and leverage the role of industry associations at the professional and academic levels.
