The Tribute Etiquette of the Ming Dynasty in Foreign Literature:Centered on the Etiquette Space in the Forbidden City
The performance of tribute etiquette by Korean and Japanese envoys at the Ning court was influenced by the internal policies of the Ming Dynasty and the relationship between the Ming Dywasty and its vassal state.Focused on the Forbidden City,the core space where tribute rites took place,this paper will compare the tribute records of Japanese envoys and Korean Envoys with the sources of the Ming Dynasty.On the one hand,the study of related texts will reveal the actual transformation of etiquette in comparsion with originol system regulation;On the other hand,we can see the impact of diplomatic interaction between China,Korea and Japan on the operation of tribute etiquette.
