Study on Early Selection of Homalium hainanensis Families in Mountainous Areas of Southern Fujian
In order to optimize the structure of tree species, ten families of Homalium hainanensis were introduced from Hainan to conduct afforestation experiments in the mountainous areas of southern Fujian. The results showed that there were significant differences in ground diameter and tree height among different families, but there were no significant differences in preservation rate and crown width. The average ground diameter was 4.04-7.40 cm,the average tree height was 3.01-5.03 m,the average crown width was 1.73-2.20 m,and the average preservation rate was 75.00%-90.63%.By the membership function method,No.8 and No.7 families were selected as early growth quality families according to the selection rate of 20%.The comprehensive evaluation score was 0.68-0.77,which was 30.7%-48.1%higher than the average group score(0.52).The genetic gains of ground diame-ter,tree height and crown width of No.8 and No.7 families were 7.08%,27.08%,14.06%and 24.73%,4.99%,-1.36%,respectively.The two selected families grew well in the early stage, and had strong adaptability and stress resistance, which could be applied in afforestation.
