Comparative Test on Biological Characteristics of Four Willow Clones
The observation study was conducted on the phenology,plant height,morphological characteristics,sur-vival rate,and reproduction rate of 1-year seedlings of four weeping willow clones(CL14、CL26、CL21、CL17)suit-able for growing in Qiqihar.The phenological period and growth rhythm of 1-year seedlings of four weeping willow clones were analyzed.The results showed as follows:the buds of the four willow clones began to expand in early and middle April,and the buds opened in late April;the fast-growing period was from July to August,and the growth stopped in late September;the leaf discoloration period was in mid-September,and the defoliation period was in mid-October;the average height of the current-year cutting seedlings of CL26 was 1.50 m,which was 3.4％and 22.4％higher than that of the control varieties CL14 and CL21;there was a significant difference in plant height growth between CL26 and CL14 at the 1-year-old seedling stage,and there was a very significant difference between CL26 and CL21.There were three peaks in the height growth of CL26 seedlings.Strengthening water and fertilizer management in the critical period of fast growth of the weeping willow could promote the rapid growth of seedlings.The survival rates of CL14 and CL26 were 95％,and the survival rates of CL21 and CL17 were 50％.
