On the basis of field investigation and literature review,the species and distribution of willows were sum-marized.By analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of various ornamental evaluation methods,the methods suit-able for willow ornamental evaluation were selected.Finally,the ornamental characteristics of willows were de-scribed from the aspects of tree shape,leaf shape and leaf color by using analytic hierarchy process,and the garden use and development prospect were briefly explained.
