Exploring the interference factors for determinning hexavalent chromium in water by diphenylcarbazide spectrophotometry
The influence factors of hexavalent chromium were studied based on the diphenylcarbazide spectrophotometry, and also the corresponding methods for eliminating interferences were proposed, intending to provide more accurate and reli-able figures for water environment monitoring. The results showed that it had a large linear relationship between acid dosage and absorbency, the absorbency decreased with the increase of acid dosage.Chromogenic time had little effect on the absor-bency in the absence of other interferences. The measured hexavalent chromium was higher in the presence of mercury salt. The results decreased or even no color with the increase of the concentration of ferrous iron.
