Determination of methanol content in crude biodiesel by gas chromatography
A gas chromatography method has been established for the determination of methanol content in crude biodiesel. The methanol in crude biodiesel is separated by a quartz capillary column and determined by hydrogen flame ion detector. The method exhibits good linearity(r>0.999 9)and low detection limit(0.007%)when the mass concentration of methanol ranges from 0.500%to 10.000%.The relative standard deviation of the actual sample is 0.64%-1.31%(n=7)with the recov-ery rate of 96.8%-102.1%.This strategy is not only simple, sensitive and accurate in the application of methanol determina-tion in crude biodiesel, but also has good reference significance of methanol content measurement in other fields.
