Discussion and exploration of measuring released amounts of carbonyl compounds in electronic cigarette aerosols
To This study focuses on the discussion and exploration of the method for measuring the released amounts of form-aldehyde,acetaldehyde,acrolein,and 2,3-butanedione in electronic cigarette aerosols,as described in Appendix F of"GB 41700-2022 Electronic Cigarettes."In this study, acetonitrile was chosen as the solvent for the standard substances,includ-ing formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acrolein, and 2,3-butanedione.2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine(DNPH)was used as the de-rivatizing reagent. After 0.5 hours of room temperature derivatization, standard curves were plotted and measurements were conducted.Within the concentration range of 0.20-10.00 μg·mL-1 for formaldehyde DNPH,acrolein DNPH,and 2,3-bu-tanedione DNPH,and 0.80-40.00 μg·mL-1 for acetaldehyde DNPH,all four target compounds showed good linear relation-ships with R2 values ranging from 0.996 to 0.999(weighted 1/X2).The study also explored the role and inclusion/exclusion of pyridine reagent.
