Wushan Mountain cliff inscription landscape in Fuzhou and political-cultural space of Neo-Confucianism in the Song and Ming dynasties
The cliff inscriptions in Wushan,Fuzhou are not only a landmark cultural landscape of the local ar-ea,but also a material record of the political and cultural life of Fujian Confucian scholars during the Song and Ming dynasties.By combining literature review,inscription interpretation,and situational analysis,this study emphasizes the specific historical context of the interaction between the Confucian community and the inscrip-tion landscape,and explores the four dimensions,including the tradition of experience of the Wushan inscrip-tion landscape;the dual historical clues of landscape construction;the political and historical symbolic signifi-cance of inscription landscape;the emotional paradigm and cultural significance of the Wushan tour.It is pointed out that the Wushan inscription landscape is a political and cultural space centered around the Neo-Confucian tradition,shaped by scholars of various dynasties based on Confucian political and historical views and cultural values.
