Effect of Paclobutrazol on the Physiological Characteristics and Flower Bud Differentiation of Erythrina sykesii
[Objective]In order to explore the physiological characteristics of flower bud differentiation of Erythrina sykesii.induced by paclobutrazol and provide a theoretical basis for the regulation of flowering period.[Method]Using 8-year-old Erythrina sykesii as the test material, physiological indicators such as photosynthetic pigment, soluble sugar, soluble protein, and endogenous hormone were measured after spraying paclobutrazol, and the effect of paclobutrazol on flower bud differentiation of Erythrina sykesii was analyzed.[Result]Spraying 1.0-3.0 g/L paclobutrazol significantly increased the content of chlorophyll and carotenoid in leaves of Erythrina sykesii, promoted the generation of soluble sugars and proteins. The content of photosynthetic pigments, soluble sugars, and soluble proteins all showed an initial increase followed by a decrease with the increase of paclobutrazol concentration. The maximum values of their contents were reached when spraying 2.0 g/L paclobutrazol.Spraying paclobutrazol increased total carbon content and decreased total nitrogen content in leaf, resulting in the increase of ratio of carbon to nitrogen.Spraying paclobutrazol significantly reduced the content of GA3 and IAA in leaves, while increasing the content of ZR and ABA,resulting in an increase in ZR/IAA,ZR/GA3,ABA/IAA,and ABA/GA3 ratios.Spraying paclobutrazol significantly increased the branches flowering rate of Erythrina sykesii, with 2.0 and 3.0 g/L paclobutrazol being most beneficial for the differentiation flower buds of Erythrina sykesii.[Conclusion]Spraying paclobutrazol is beneficial for promoting the generation of carbohydrates, increasing the carbon to nitrogen ratio, regulating the balance of endogenous hormones, and thus promoting the differentiation of flower buds in Erythrina sykesii. The best effect was obtained when spraying 2.0 g/L paclobutrazol.
