Research Progress on the Classification,Pharmacological Activity,and Biosynthesis Regulation of Plant Flavonoid
Flavonoid was one of the important secondary metabolites in plants,including flavone,flavonol,isoflavone,flavanone,flavanol,chalcone,anthocyanidin and proanthocyadin.Plant flavonoid played important roles in plant growth,development and stress response,and had pharmacological activities such as antioxidant,anti-aging,antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.The biosynthesis of plant flavonoid was mainly controlled by two types of genes:the structural genes that directly encoded enzymes related to flavonoid biosynthesis,and the transcription factors that regulated the expression of these structural genes.This review focused on the classifications,pharmacological activities,and biosynthetic regulations of plant flavonoid,and explored the future research trends.Thus,this review was expected to provide scientific basis for the research and application of plant flavonoid.
