Study on Seed Propagation Techniques of Rhododendron delavayi Franch.
[Objective]To address the issues of low germination rate and survival rate of seed propagation of Rhododendron delavayi Franch.in eastern Yunnan.[Method]Studies were conducted on seed socking to force seed germination,various sowing times,shading degrees,and foliar fertilization.[Result]Seed socking at 50℃ could reach the best result,and seed emergence time was only 22 d.June in summer was the best time for seed propagation when seed emergence time was short,seed emergence rate was high with high uniformity.Shading treatment was necessary when the seedlings were young,with 70％shading being the most suitable.In the early stages of seedling growth,appropriate folia biogas slurry and aclum fertilizer should be applied reaching the best effect of nutrition supplementation.[Conclusion]Seedling survival rate,plant height and strong seedlings could be effectively improved when seed of Rhododendron delavayi Franch.was sock at 50℃,and sowed in June in summer,young seedlings were shaded with the 70％of shading degree,and folia biogas slurry and aclum fertilizer were applied on young seedlings.
