When the shield passes through the old buildings that are very sensitive to the settlement in the shallow soft ground,the improper construction may have a serious impact on the buildings,and the construction risk is great.In this paper,taking the shield of Qianjin en-trance and exit section of Fuzhou Metro Line 4 as an example,through selecting shield tunneling equipment,combing the shield construc-tion process,calculating the shield process parameters and grouting,the problem of settlement and deformation of old residential buildings on the surface were solved,the project can be successfully be completed,which can provide reference for similar projects in the future.
