Prestressed pipe piles have been widely applied in the field of construction engineering because of its high strength,simple con-struction and cost-effectiveness.However,the improper construction methods may cause the pile floating up and affecting its vertical com-pressive ultimate bearing capacity.Combining with specific engineering cases,this article explores the reasons of the uplift of prestressed pipe piles.For a pile foundation with excessive settlement,the pile foundation static load test with three times of the value of the detection was conducted to verify that the floating phenomenon was an isolated case.The specialized treatment and preventive measures are pro-posed.The typical treatment methods for floating pipe piles have been proposed.The research results indicated that by adopting appropriate construction techniques and management measures,the problem of pipe pile floating can be effectively prevented and treated to ensure the safety and reliability of the project.
