The paper identified 378 object trees by taking Pinus taiwanensis Hayata as the research object,used the fixed radius method to determine that the radius of circle sample of the object tree and competitive tree was 7.5 m,and got the average competitive intensity under various site quality levels by calculating the competitive intensity associated with distance.By fitting the 10 alternative equations,the competitive intensity relationship was built related to site quality which was CI =fa(I1,I2,I3,I4) +fa(I1,I2,I3,I4)/D,and correlation index was 0.932,absolute relative error absolute value was 7.4%,average system error was 1.1%.These suggested the model was fitted better to be used to describe the competitive intensity of natural P.taiwanensis under different site quality grade.
