Antibacterial activity of heartwood extractives of Phoebe zhennan
The inhibiting effects of different solvents extractives of Phoebe zhennan heartwood on Trametes versicolor (white rot fungi) and Gloeophyllum trabeum (brown rot fungi) were analyzed by the growth rate method to thoroughly investigate the antibacterial and corrosion resisting performance. The result showed that all the six kinds of extractives′ antibacterial effects against T.versicolor can be arranged in order: methanol>acetone>chloroform>mineral ether>ethyl acetate>distilled water.Among them, methanol extracts was the most effective in resisting T.versicolor as the EC50 was the lowest in a value of 0.935 2 g·L-1.And all the six extracts had different degrees of antibacterial effects against G.trabeum in an order of methanol>acetone>chloroform>ethyl acetate>mineral ether>distilled water. All of them, the EC50 of methanol extracts was the lowest in a value of 0.403 0 g·L-1 suggesting methanol extracts was the most effective in resisting G.trabeum.
