Species diversity and biomass of different shrub communities in Sanxingdui City Wall
This study aims to reveal the species diversity and biomass of different shrub communities in Sanxingdui City Wall. The typical sample plot survey method was employed to explore the species composition, species diversity indices, biomass, and relationship between diversity indices and biomass of 6 shrub communities dominated by Broussonetia papyrifera-Alangium chinense(A),Broussonetia papyrifera-Dalbergia hupeana(B),Lonicera japonica-Rosa cymosa(C),Broussonetia papyrifera-Ligustrum sinense(D),Broussonetia papyrifera-Solanum aculeatissimum(E),and Broussonetia papyrifera-Albizia kalkora(F).The results showed that plants of 107 genera(divided into 12 phyletic distributions)belonging to 50 families(divided into 6 phyletic distributions)were identified in the 6 shrub communities. The tropical distribution of plant families was larger than the temperate distribution, which indicated an obvious tropical nature. However, the distribution trend was opposite at the genus level. In the shrub layer,Broussonetia papyrifera was the absolute dominant species of communities A,B,D,E,and F,and Lonicera japonica was the absolute dominant species of community C.In the herb layer, the dominant species were mostly inconsistent among different communities. In the shrub layer, community F had higher Shannon-Wiener index(H),Simpson's dominance index(H'),and Pielou evenness index(Jsw)than other communities(P<0.05).In the herb layer, the diversity indices above were the highest in community F,the Shannon-Wiener index(H)and the Simpson's dominance index(H')of community C were lower than other communities, the species richness index(D)of community B was lower than other communities. The biomass of community B was the highest in the shrub layer, and that of community D was the highest in the herb layer. The results of redundancy analysis showed that the species richness index(HL-D)in the herb layer and the Shannon-Wiener index(SL-H)and species richness index(SL-D)in the shrub layer were the factors influencing the biomass. It is recommended that communities B and F can be selected as the target shrub communities for city wall protection and display, supplemented by low plants with nitrogen-fixing and ornamental effects.
