The floristic composition,geographical components,life form and endemic species about coastal plants in Guangxi were sta-tistical analyzed by field investigation and data collation in 2021-2023.This paper adopted the concept of spray zone plant and pro-posed a new method for dividing coastal plants.The results show that:①there were totally 1038 species of coastal plants in Guangxi,belonging to 637 genera and 159 families,among which were 33 species of ferns belong to 22 genera,12 families;13 species of gym-nosperms belong to 8 genera,7 families;and 992 species of angiosperm belong to 607 genera,140 families.Wild plants were 803 spe-cies from 505 genera,133 families,and cultivated plants were 235 species from 177 genera,83 families.Most of the species were herbs,the number of which was 437,accounting for 42.75％;Least of the species were lianas,with only 133 species,accounting for 12.81％.②The number of invasive species were 66,accounted for 8.22％of wild coastal plants,including 14 species of alien inva-sive species under national key management.③The coastal plants of Guangxi basically consist of tropical to subtropical elements,with fewer temperate plants,showing the characteristics of tropical north-fringe.④The coastal flora of Guangxi was closely related to that of Guangdong Province,and their common species account for 91.41％of wild coastal plant species in Guangxi.Among the coastal plants in Guangxi,there were a lack of endemic species,only one species,that was Bhesa xiei.⑤Among the coastal plants,there were many kinds of key protected plants,including 2 first-level national key protected wild plants,5 second-level national key protected wild plants,and 6 key protected wild plants of Guangxi.
