The average stem analysis method was used to analyze the growth characteristics and quantitative maturity age of the 45 a Schima superba plantations of 4 kinds of site quality grades.Results showed that:the average individual tree mean annual increment of the 45 a S.superba plantations of four site classes was in the order of Class Ⅰ＞Class Ⅱ＞Class Ⅲ＞Class Ⅳ,but the peak age was advanced with the decline of the forest class.The quantitative mature age of the planted forest in Class Ⅰ and Ⅱ land was more than 45 years,while that of Class Ⅲ and Ⅳ land was about 40 years and 35 years,respectively.The results of the study can provide a theoretical basis for the development of efficient management measures for S.superba plantation according to site grade.
